Rihanna rules ‘SNL’ stage

Rihanna ruled the stage on "Saturday Night Live" with two epic performances.

Rihanna wasn’t satisfied with a mic and bandstand for her set on "SNL" this weekend. She wanted to give the audience members an experience that they would not soon forget as she launched into "Birthday Cake" before rolling into "Talk That Talk."

Unlike her last tour, RiRi skipped on the bright outfits and technicolor stage dressing, opting instead for a monochromatic, militaristic look and a spiderweb.

Her second performance of the night was an even bigger production "Where Have You Been," where she brought the audience to the desert!

The stage show borrowed heavily from her video, in which she starred as a tribal princess/desert priestess. But seeing as how she couldn’t bring a lagoon or bonfire to the NBC studios, she had to settle for an opulent tent.

That’s going to be a tough act to follow for Usher, when he hits the "SNL" stage this week. See if he raises the bar when he hits the stage on May 12 at 11:30 p.m. (EST) on NBC.
