Phaedra Parks files $30 million lawsuit

If you’re going to spread gossip about an attorney, it’s best to make sure your facts are straight.

Atlanta lawyer and reality star, Phaedra Parks, has filed a $30 million libel lawsuit against and Uptown magazine for publishing a story that accuses her of criminal activity.

In March, posted an exclusive interview with Angela Stanton, who claims she and the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star were partners in crime.

Phaedra hasn’t publicly commented on the rumors, but she described the allegations as “false” within the lawsuit.

“While Plaintiff recognizes the importance of the role of the media in reporting on public figures, Defendant and other members of the media are not granted an unfettered right or privilege under the First Amendment to defame public figures by publishing false and defamatory accusations with actual malice,” reads the lawsuit.

“Defendant crossed the threshold from speech protected by the First Amendment to enter the arena of actionable defamation of a public figure for which they must be held legally accountable,” it continued.

Angela’s story also implicated Phaedra’s husband, Apollo Nida, who is reportedly separated from Phaedra now, according to

Although Phaedra admitted that she has met Angela, she denied that the two women were ever close enough to be considered friends.

The attorney will be back for season 5 of the Bravo hit series, but it’s unclear whether the lawsuit drama will unfold on-camera for viewers.
