Beyoncé explains Blue Ivy’s name

Beyoncé is giving fans some insight as to why she named her daughter Blue Ivy.

Ever wonder where Beyoncé came up with a name like Blue for her first-born child?

Well the "Party" diva dropped a few hints by posting a poem, Rebecca Solnit’s Field Guide to Getting Lost, to her ever-expanding Tumblr.

"The world is blue at its edges and in its depths," a clip from the poem reads. “Water is colorless, shallow water appears to be the color of whatever lies underneath it, but deep water is full of this scattered light, the purer the water the deeper the blue."

You can read the poem in its entirety below!
