Ray Lavender debuts new single ‘We Love’

Ray Lavender of "The Ultimate Merger" is back and ready to make it big with new music and a huge movie role!

You probably remember Ray Lavender as the man who stole Omarosa’s heart on her reality show “The Ultimate Merger.”

While their relationship didn’t work out, Ray is back and ready to make it big. This sexy R&B singer-songwriter-actor-model is still confident he can make his mark permanent after leaving Akon’s record label and starting over with the Global Artist Group.

The video for his new single “We Love” debuted for the first time on BET’s “106 & Park” Thursday evening. Ray said this R&B ballad is meant to depict the highs and lows in any relationship. “There are ups and downs in relationships and there’re going to be some bumps in the road. But you got to find a way to stay and love that person,” Ray told S2S. “That’s why I did the ‘We Love’ record. We both love each other, but we love each other differently.”

As for now, there’s no special lady in Ray’s life, but he said, “Music has me taken." He’s currently working on his upcoming album, Light Up the Night, with singles including his catchy club hit “Tequila,” “We Love” and his next single “Sexy Mutha. ” He’s also in the upcoming film, Soul Ties starring Rocsi Diaz and Terri J. Vaughn.

Ray’s even landed a starring role portraying his idol Sam Cooke in an upcoming biopic scheduled to be released this year. For the next few weeks, Ray will be traveling the world from Belize to Madrid to Dubai performing and “sharing the love.”

We asked Ray if he hopes to make some huge accomplishments in the future, but failure is not an option.

“I can’t say I hope. This has got to happen. I have to be epic. I have to be legend. I want to be with the greats. I have to be because I studied them and I deserve it,” Ray told S2S. “I know what music is, I know how music makes you feel and what it’s supposed to do. I have to be legendary and it’s going to happen through my trusting God and how hard I work.”
