BET casts new male lead for ‘The Game’

Jay Ellis has been cast as the new male lead for "The Game."

It looks like BET has picked Lauren London’s new leading man. Lauren was cast after it was announced that Tia Mowry wouldn’t be returning to the show as a major character. She and co-star Pooch Hall have expressed interest in returning to "The Game," but they will no longer be the series’ stars.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the "NCIS" actor will join season 6 of "The Game" as Bryce "The Blueprint" Westbrook. Bryce is a first-round NFL draft pick from the Ivy League and the running back has a hard time getting along with his teammates on the San Diego Sabers.

Jay will be joining Lauren, who is set to play Kiera, as the newest additions to the BET sitcom. Lauren’s character is a child star who is having some trouble finding more mature roles now that she’s an adult.

There’s no word on how Bryce or Kiera will be introduced on "The Game."
