Tamera Mowry-Housley was a little worried when she found out that she’s pregnant.
Tamera shared in her new mommy blog for People.com that at first she couldn’t believe that she was with child.
“It took a while before the fact that I was pregnant settled in,” she admitted. “Once it did, I kept reciting to myself, ‘I’m going to be a mom. I’m going to be a mom.’ I will never forget the feeling that swept over me. I found myself pacing my room with excitement and experiencing a sense of joy I have never felt before.
After she wraped her head around the concept that she’s having a baby, the next logical step was to figure out how to tell her husband Adam Housley.
"I immediately thought about how I would I tell my husband. I always wanted to do it in a creative way," said Tamera, who took more than a few pregnancy tests to verify her good news. "I decided to text Adam a photo of four positive pregnancy tests—yes, you read right, FOUR positive pregnancy tests—and added, ‘HAPPY EARLY FATHER’S DAY!’"
Expecting an immediate response, Tamera admitted that she became concerned with how long it was taking Adam to respond. She took matters into her own hands.
“Thirty minutes later, I still hadn’t heard back from him. I began to worry—was he in shock?" Tamera questioned. "I couldn’t wait any longer, so I called him and asked if he had seen his texts. He replied, ‘No’ and I happily told him to look. His response? ‘COOOL!!!’"
Adam might have been excited but as she got off the phone with the soon-to-be-father, Tamera shared that she was definintely coming down from her initial emotional high.
“Once I called my husband, an interesting thing happened. The excitement died down and quickly turned into worry," Tamera wrote, explaining that she wasn’t sure if what she was feeling was normal. "Now that I knew I was pregnant, I became overwhelmed with so many emotions. I never knew how excited and overwhelmed you can feel at the same time."
Part of her worry stemmed from the fact that she’s doesn’t know how to prepare for her impending bundle of joy. Fortunately for her, there’s an app (and lots of people) for that.
“There are so many things to do and facts to find out. But not only that, so much information thrown at you all at once!" Tamera stated "How do I sift through it? I immediately downloaded iPhone apps and called my doctor and my mom.”
