LaLa Anthony, who’s done Broadway and big-screen films, is working on her next role in the film 1982.
The reality star shared photos of her and co-star Hill Harper wearing afro wigs and outfits that hearken back to the decade when neon colors ruled.
“Check me out!!! We are in the 70s baby on the set of the new film I’m shooting,” LaLa tweeted.
Tommy Oliver is producing the period piece, which also stars Elise Neal, Sharon Leal and legendary actress Ruby Dee.
The movie, set in Philadelphia, is based on a true story about a Black family struggling with the mother’s cocaine addiction, according to Urban Film Review.
Although she’s a mother, wife, reality star and entrepreneur, LaLa, who recently starred in Steve Harvey’s Think Like a Man, is working to establish herself as an honest-to-goodness actor.
“I’m really stepping into theater and acting now,” she told Sister 2 Sister last year.
