Shaquille O’Neal to star in new series

    Following the likes of Comedy Central’s “Tosh.0” starring comedian Daniel Tosh and MTV’s “Ridiculousness” starring professional skateboarder and entrepreneur Rob Dyrdek, truTV has given the green light to Shaquille O’Neal for a new viral-video show tentatively titled “Upload with Shaquille O’Neal.”

    The basketball great will star in the new 10-episode series along side Godfrey from “The Mr. Men Show,” and Gary Owen from Think Like a Man.

    According to The Huffington Post, the series will involve a panel of guest will comment on the funniest viral videos from around the Web, create funny spoofs of their own, pull pranks, and parody pop culture events.

    “I’ve been a fan of truTV for a long time and I look forward to working with my good friends Gary Own and Godfrey. I’ve always tried to entertain people and I know this show will deliver big laughs,” Shaq said in a statement.

    “Shaquille O’Neal has such a great personality, and he really has a lot of fun with the format and the material in this new truTV series,” Marc Juris, executive vice president and chief operating officer of truTV, said in a statement. “This show is going to be a great fit with truTV’s comedic shows like “Impractical Jokers” and the upcoming “Killer Karaoke.”

    As of now, the date of the series’ debut has not yet been announced.
