D.C. officer threatens to shoot Michelle Obama

A White House police escort is under investigation for threatening to shoot First Lady Michelle Obama.

According to the Washington Post, an unidentified police officer from Washington, D.C., has been moved to administrative duty for allegedly making threatening comments toward the first lady. He had been working as a motorcycle escort for White House officials and other high-profile dignitaries before this incident.

On Wednesday morning, several officers from the Special Operations Division overheard the cop stating that he would shoot Michelle. Allegedly, he then pulled out his phone and showed a picture of the gun he would use to make good on the threat.

It’s not clear how many other officers were involved in the conversation or what type of gun was displayed. One of his fellow officers immediately reported the threats to the DCPD’s Internal Affairs Division, which then alerted the U.S. Secret Service.

“We received an allegation that inappropriate comments were made. We are currently investigating the nature of those comments,” a rep for the DCPD said in a statement to the Post. Authorities have decided not to identify the officer.

Supposedly, there is no indication that Michelle was in any immediate danger and the Secret Service is declining to comment on the situation except to state that it "will conduct appropriate follow-up."
