While Mary J. Blige has given no answer in regards to the “American Idol” rumors, she will be on at least one singing competition show this fall: NBC’s “The Voice.”
The “Mr. Wrong” singer has signed on as an advising mentor for coach Adam Levine’s team on the popular show, according to Rolling Stone.
The announcement comes on the heels of rumors that Mary is being considered to serve as a judge on “American Idol,” a show that she was also a mentor on.
Mary and Adam have already started filming together for the upcoming season of “The Voice” and it seems like a happy marriage.
“I love Adam; he’s so amazing,” Mary said. “I’m so happy to be working with him and his team.”
And Adam, the Maroon 5 front man, seems equally pleased.
“I’ve always been a huge fan of Mary J. Blige,” he said. “So it’s been great having her on “The Voice” as an adviser to my team.
Other R&B stars that have served as advisers on the hit show are Monica, Ne-Yo, Babyface and Lionel Richie.
Season three of “The Voice” premieres Sept. 10 on NBC.
