R&B’s girl next door, Brandy, has kicked off promotions for her new single, “Put It Down” featuring Chris Brown. The sultry songbird recently told Sister 2 Sister about her tour with Monica being put on hold and that she is putting the final touches on her upcoming album, Two Eleven.
Rumors of a fallout with Monica over the cancellation of their highly anticipated joint tour were sparked from a comment Brandy made in a recent interview with Bark Bite: “I kind of wanna do my own thing,” Brandy confessed. When asked about it, Brandy was eager to set the record straight.
“I gotta clear that up because I don’t understand why that was taken any other way than the way it was said! I’m really focusing on my music and acting and trying to do everything simultaneously and balancing is really tough,” admitted Brandy. “I don’t ever want to hold up another artist because I’m all over the place in my work. I love to sing, but I want to act too, so I have to figure out how I can do them both.”
Brandy assured her fans that a big tour is in the works, however, the details of when, where and with whom are still in the air.
Her sixth album, Two Eleven, is now set for an October 2 release date after being pushed back for a third time. Brandy says it will be out “when it’s right.”
“We don’t want to make any mistakes, honey, so everything is planned out and in divine timing. This really means a lot to me. It’s a great opportunity for me to connect with my fans again and really make a statement with my music,” said Brandy. “I’m pretty much done [with the album], but I’m definitely still tweaking it. Some of my best songs have come at the last hour.”
