Venus and Serena Williams bring home the gold

It’s a happy time for the Williams sisters, as both Venus and Serena have grabbed the gold medal for the 2012 London Olympics in Wimbledon.

The two took a 6-4 win over Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic, reports TheYBF.com.

This makes the duos third time winning the gold medal in the doubles competition, following Sydney in 2000 and Beijing in 2008.

“We all talk about this, ‘We have so many medals,’ but to be able to add to that, it’s an unbelievable feeling,” Venus said. “You know that in that count, there you are. It feels amazing.”

Serena also took home the singles gold on Saturday, following in her sister’s footsteps when Venus won singles in 2000. When Serena took her first gold of the weekend, she hit a quick C-walk on the court.

“Crazy,” Serena said. “I’m always copying her. I forgot that she did it in Sydney, and I do it here. We’re the same doubles team; we just split this to singles, so it’s cool. ”

    Congrats ladies!
