The Carter household is doing quite well as Jay-Z and Beyoncé have been named the highest paid couple of 2011.
The first couple of hip-hop earned $78 million in 2011, according to Forbes.com, which issued the ranking.
While the couple may be taking things relatively easy while playing proud parents to baby Blue Ivy, Bey and Jay each dropped wildly popular albums in 2011: 4 and Watch the Throne, respectively. Then each brought in loads of cash by taking their shows on the road.
Beyoncé sold out a run of concerts at Roseland Ballroom in New York City, while Jay and Kanye went on a North American tour from September to December to support their joint album.
Bey and hubby Hov beat out NFL baller Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen, who raked in $72 million last year. David and Victoria Beckham took the #3 position with $54 million, while Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie occupy fourth place with $45 million. Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith round out the top 5 with earnings of $40 million.
The ranking suggests the work Jay put in on Watch The Throne paid off. Get a look at him and Kanye creating their project below and keep an eye out for a few cameos by Beyoncé!
