Evelyn Lozada speaks on domestic ‘incident’

Evelyn Lozada has decided to take legal action against her husband Chad Johnson after he allegedly head-butted her.

Although Chad has been ordered to stay away from his wife, they may come face-to-face in the courtroom. NFL.com reports that Evelyn has signed a police affidavit stating that she plans to press charges against Chad for their domestic dispute over the weekend.

Evelyn and  Chad can’t seem to agree on what went down Saturday night before he was arrested for domestic battery. Both parties admit that there was an altercation in Chad’s black Smart Car after Evelyn found a receipt for a box of condoms.

That’s where the stories begin to differ: Evelyn alleges that Chad grabbed her and head-butted her. Chad denies that he assaulted his new bride, claiming that she’s the one who actually head-butted him during their argument on Saturday night.

Now, Evelyn has released a statement on the matter, calling it an "incident" and assigning blame to her husband.

“It is with great sadness and much trepidation that I release this statement addressing the domestic violence incident that happened this past Saturday," stated Evelyn, who suggested that Chad seek professional help following their fight. "I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles.

While Evelyn has been known to throw wine bottles and jump tables, as many witnessed on the last season of "Basketball Wives," she has made an effort to gain more control over herself. As such, she hopes that her decision to come forward and speak on her fight with Chad encourages other women to do the same.

"Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well," said Evelyn. "I’m grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.”

This statement comes along with the sad news that Evelyn’s brother-in-law, who walked her down the aisle at her wedding, has passed away.
