Evelyn Lozada has filed for divorce, but there’s word that Chad Johnson isn’t ready to call it quits with his wife.
It hasn’t been a week since Chad was arrested on charges of domestic violence after he allegedly head-butted Evelyn at their home in Florida. Since Saturday, Chad has lost his job, his spin-off with Evelyn and Evelyn herself. But as one source told RadarOnline.com, he’s trying to keep his six-week marriage together.
“Chad has been tearfully calling and texting Ev, pouring his heart out to her and telling how sorry he is and how he has never loved anyone before as he loves her. But, it’s just too little too late," one insider said.
“Evelyn will not tolerate being cheated on and being physically attacked and she has washed her hands of Chad for good," the tipster added, noting that there were reports of Chad carrying on an affair with another woman until shortly before he wed Evelyn on July 4.
The "Basketball Wives" star filed for divorce in Florida, claiming that the marriage was "irretrievably broken" in court documents, effectively ending the newlywed’s honeymoon phase. "[Evelyn] was desperately in love with him and ignored a lot of warning signs along the way, but now that she has finally woken up, she will not be taking any steps back and will not go back to him."
The source concluded, “Despite Chad’s pleas for a second chance and his assurances that he will undergo counseling, Ev is sticking to her guns. It is over between her and Chad. For good. Period.”
This comes along with rumors that Chad had been abusive to Evelyn throughout their relationship and supposedly threatened to kill her at one point. Get more on that when you flip through Daily Buzz 8.16.12 below.
