K.Michelle commends Evelyn Lozada

K.Michelle is giving Evelyn Lozada credit for leaving Chad Johsnon after he allegedly assaulted her.

Whether encouraging women to leave abusive relationship, or talking about being beaten by her ex-boyfrind MeMpHiTz Wright, K.Michelle has been speaking on the topic of domestic violence since "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" premiered.

Her story has been met with equal parts sympathy and skepticism from the public (and her cast mates). However, the people that don’t believe her are very loud about their doubts of her account, speculating that she’s lying about getting attacked.

With her recent work for Saving Our Daughters, it was only natural that she spoke up about Evelyn’s recent marital drama.

"Evelyn is such a beautiful woman that a lot of girls look up to. I’m very proud of her for taking a stance and walking away," K said in a statement on GlobalGrind.com.  The singer never pressed charges in her own case, but she admires that Evelyn wasted no time reporting the incident to police and putting as much distance as possible between herself and Chad. K.Michelle admits that she can’t say the same for herself.

"I feel like I was so in love at the time when the police came to my rescue, I should’ve moved forward with charges and [I should’ve done] what I needed to do," the "LHHA" star stated. "So, I think it’s very commendable on her part. At the same time it’s a tragic situation for both parties."

Evelyn has received a lot of criticism following her domestic incident, and many of her detractors point to her bully behavior this season on "Basketball Wives" as license to laugh about it. K.Michelle argued, though, that fans and haters only get to see part of someone’s personality on TV.

"There are different sides of every woman. Editing happens," the singer said. "You don’t understand and you don’t know who K. Michelle is. You don’t understand and you don’t know who Evelyn is."

She concluded, "To not be sympathetic to her in a time like this is absolutely ridiculous. It shows you just how evil the world is and it shows you just how real jealous the world is."

K.Michelle also expressed some sympathy towards Chad, who has lost his gig playing for the Miami Dolphins and his spin-off with Evelyn in the days since his arrest. "It’s sad to see a black man lose his job. It’s sad on his part. It’s sad on her part," said the singer. "As a woman, you never want to have to go through that. I think that’s something very traumatic for any woman to have to go through."
