‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ recap: 8.21.12

The season finale of "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" was littered with broken hearts, except for one couple.

    Lil Scrappy dumps Shay

As a general rule, it’s never a good sign when a man you want refers to you as "the homie." Shay learned that lesson the hard way when Lil Scrappy told her that he’s still got strong feelings for his babymama Erica Dixon, who is thinking about getting down with the swirl!

"You ain’t the only one that can be hurt," she told Scrappy as he broke the disappointing news. Shay’s been waiting in the wings since she stepped foot onto the show, and she was so sure that she would end up with the rapper once he got over Erica that she had no problem playing the role of his woman without him actually establishing that they were dating exclusively.

Stevie J up to his old tricks

Stevie J didn’t miss a beat as his love triangle with Mimi Faust and Joseline Hernandez crumbled. That didn’t bother the producer, who didn’t miss a beat.

Once Joseline expressed that she wanted to keep their relationship strictly professional (except for the occasional beef cake session), Stevie wasted no time getting a new artist to focus his attentions on. He essentially introduced Joseline to her replacement by trying to get them on a track together.

While Stevie brought contended Joseline out to the studio for business, it didn’t take the singer long to figure out what game he was playing.

    K.Michelle’s not running

K.Michelle is really sick of people saying that they don’t believe her ex-boyfriend beat her, but Rasheeda still questions whether MeMpHiTz roughed up the singer.

From what she knows of the record exec, he’s a loving husband, a great dad and all-around good guy. It’s hard for her to believe that the man she knows could be so abusive. But K.Michelle said she’s got something for Rasheeda and all the other doubters.

No one really knows what happened betweem K.Michelle and MeMpHiTz, so without concrete evidence, no one can really say who’s lying and who’s telling the truth. Either way, domestic abuse is not an issue to be toyed with.

    Benzino dumps Karlie Redd

So Karlie Redd’s relationship with Benzino ended just as quickly as it began. Zino was ready to pop the question and make Karlie his wife. But instead of saying "yes" when he pulled out a ring, Karlie questioned whether he was really ready to jump the broom.

With that, Benzino realized that Karlie is not the woman for him, and he broke things off with the Trinidadian singer. All the confusion was too much for Karlie, who seemed steamed that she almost got engaged but wound up going home (to her house) alone.

She also sounded a little bitter about the breakup, charging that she made Benzino hot. Benzino wouldn’t be where he is without Karlie? Is she serious?  We’re pretty sure he was doing ok on his own before she came along. And wasn’t he the one that got her some face time with Vincent Herbert?! Ok just checking.

    Mimi dumps Stevie J

After all the shenanigans Stevie J has been up to this season, Mimi has finally had enough. It may have taken her a while to come to this conclusion, but she finally told Stevie that it’s over.

"I don’t want to be in a relationship with you anymore. I’m done," she stated clearly. Of course, Stevie doesn’t believe that she’ll stay away too long.

    Rasheeda renews her vows

Rasheeda is serious about her marriage! She and hubby Kirk Frost may not be able to work together anymore, but the couple intends to do whatever they have to do to stay together. And the couple established their commitment to the relationship by renewing their vows.

This time, instead of running off to Vegas, they had a proper wedding in front of their friends and family. Well at least there was a happy ending to the season for one couple.
