Oprah Winfrey will be filling in for Robin Roberts, who’s taking a break from “Good Morning America” to fight a rare disease and mourn the loss of her mother.
Robin was already planning a leave of absence from the show to undergo a bone marrow transplant. The 51-year-old newswoman left the series a day early to spend time with her 88-year-old mother, according to reports.
“Dear ones, this is my final morn @GMA for a while. Heading home after the show to be w/ my ailing mom n MS,” Robin tweeted yesterday.
That was the day Lucimarian, Robin’s mom, died.
“Fam prayers to @RobinRoberts. Her mom passed away today. She got to Mississippi just in time to be with her before she made her transition,” tweeted Roland Martin.
While Robin is away, a number of celebrities will attempt to fill her shoes, not the least of which is Oprah Winfrey.
Chris Rock, Barbara Walters, Kelly Ripa and Diane Sawyer will all take turns co-hosting the popular morning show.
