Model Angela Simmons might be walking the runways in fashions from her own line of clothing in the near future.
“I don’t have an exact date yet, but I’m working on a fashion line, very different from Pasty,” she told Everything Girls Love. While her Pastry line of shoes and sportswear is considered street wear, Angela said her new line will be more upscale.
“It will exude my sense of style. The line will be couture and high-end. It’s a dream of mine to see my line on runways during Fashion Week!” she said.
While “Run’s House” fans my remember Angela dipping her toe in the pool of journalism by trying her hand as editor-in-chief of a magazine, she said fashion and philanthropy are her true interests.
“I’m always going to be doing something related to either one,” said Angela, who has participated in a PETA campaign and is active with the Children Miracle Network.
“Lately, I’ve been working with an organization called NY Class, to get the horses off the streets of New York. The horses that ride us around on carriages are treated so horribly and horses have no business being in the city,” she said.
Angela’s business savvy isn’t too surprising giving her link to entrepreneurs Rev. Run of Run DMC, Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee Simmons, her dad, uncle and aunt, respectively.
“Their work ethic is insanely rigorous. I was always told that I can go for anything and hard work and passion will take me there. Having great models around that inspire me has also been extremely helpful,” she said.
With all that hard work and grinding, where does that leave Angela’s personal life?
“I’m single,” confirmed Angela who was once linked to rapper Bow Wow and more recently seen hanging out with Romeo Miller.
“I’m a workaholic, so fun comes second to that. I love what I do. So It’s all good,” she said. “I’m single. I’m cool and loving being single!”
Angela talks weaves in the October 2012 issue of Sister 2 Sister.
