MeMpHiTz suing ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ producers

MeMpHiTz is taking legal action in response to all the bad publicity he received due to K.Michelle’s claims on "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta."

Season 1 of "LHHA" is over, but the drama continues.

MeMpHiTz has filed a federal suit against Viacom International, Inc.; NFGTV, Inc.; and Monami Entertainment, LLC for hurting his reputation, ItsOnlyEntertainment.net reports.

During the show, K.Michelle was very vocal about the alleged violence she suffered during her relationship with the music executive. The singer never mentioned MeMpHiTz by name on the show, but she has answered questions about him in interviews since "LHHA" premiered back in June.

Although MeMpHiTz has spoken on K.Michelle’s claims on the radio and Twitter, he wants everyone behind the show to pay up.

“My family and I have suffered tremendously while VH-1, Monami Ent., and the other companies provided a worldwide platform for K.Michelle to repeatedly assassinate my character," MeMpHiTz states in the suit. "The filing of this suit is to compensate for the irreparable damage that has been done to my reputation and to deter these companies from doing such future harm to others.”

Reportedly MeMpHiTz is seeking $1 per viewer per episode in damages. With "LHHA" averaging about 3 million per episode, he could stand to make quite a bit of money for his suffering, should he manage to win the case.

According to court documents, MeMpHiTz’s legal team accused his ex-girlfriend and former artist of using the show to broadcast her claims. The lawyers even go so far as to allege that she’s actually the abuser—if only the verbal sense.

“[K. Michelle] has taken full advantage of society’s tendency to accept claims of domestic violence as always being true, even in the absence of proof," the suit states. "The only abuse that actually occurred is the malicious and calculated pattern of vicious lies Ms. Pate has assailed for the purpose of fabricating a compelling story line in an attempt to ruin my client’s name.”

MeMpHiTz’s legal team acknowledged the seriousness of violence against women, but the attorneys allege that K.Michelle was unjustly manipulating viewers gain sympathy and drive ratings for "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta."

“Domestic violence is an issue of [a] serious nature, often having grave consequences for true victims with whom we all sympathize," lawyers stated in the suit. "However, it is unconscionable for one to play on the sympathies of the masses by levying false accusations of such heinous acts against an innocent party, simply for the sake of entertainment or for purported career advancement."

Court papers continue, "After reviewing the evidence in this matter, we are prepared to litigate this case to the fullest extent of the law to seek justice for our client and to restore his name and professional reputation.”

Last month, Toya said she filed a gag order against K.Michelle, but it’s not clear where that legal action stands at this time.
