Bill Clinton backs President Obama during DNC speech

Bill Clinton gave President Barack Obama a ringing endorsement for re-election at the Democratic National Convention.

First Lady Michelle Obama gave former President Bill Clinton major props for his speech at the DNC on Wednesday night. And for good reason, Bill gave the president a huge vote of confidence during his nomination speech, when he told Mitt Romney and Republicans that Democrats are pushing for four more years of the current administration.

“I hate to break it to you, but we’re going to keep President Obama on the job!” said Bill. “One reason we need to reelect President Obama is he is still committed to constructive cooperation. Look at his record! ”

Bill went on to point out that Barack has created 4.5 million jobs since entering office and managed to put a floor under an economic crash that could have been much worse. Although, he acknowledged that more work needs to be done, Bill pointed out that Barack inherited a deeply damaged economy.

“No president, no president — not me or any of my predecessors, no one, could have repaired all the damage he found in just four years," Bill stated. "But [Barack] has laid the foundation for a new, modern, successful economy, of shared prosperity, and if you renew the president’s contract, you will feel it. You will feel it.”

In case it wasn’t clear enough, he had some very clear reasons for giving Barack his endorsement for the presidency. "I want to nominate a man who is cool on the outside, but burns for America on the inside," Bill asserted. "I want Barack Obama to be the next president of the United States, and I proudly nominate him to be the standard bearer of the Democratic party."

He added, "After last night, I want a man that had the good sense to marry Michelle Obama."
