Marvin Sapp assured fans that what they see on his reality TV series is the real deal.
“The whole premise is that people look at the opportunity to get to see how my children, Marvin, Mikaila and Madisson, and I have transitioned over the last two years after the passing of my wife,” the gospel great told Sister 2 Sister.
Marvin’s reality series, "Single Dad," is expected to air this fall.
While single parenting often falls on the shoulders of mothers, Marvin said the show depicts what it’s like for the single dad.
“In the African-American community you always get the opportunity to see females who are raising their children, but there’s a lot of males that are raising their children now,” he said.
The show focuses on Marvin’s real life, but he’s keeping some things private. For instance, viewers won’t see him wining and dining any potential romantic partners.
“I don’t think the world is ready to see a preacher date publicly, so I kinda shot that concept down,” he said.
