Tyler Perry securing ‘Alex Cross’ sequel

Alex Cross has yet to hit theaters, but Tyler Perry is already thinking ahead to the next installment.

Deadline.com reports that Tyler and bestselling author James Patterson, who penned the Alex Cross detective novels, are working on a deal to bring Double Cross to the big screen with QED.

Under this deal, Tyler would come back to play the detective. The entertainment mogul signed on to play Alex for $5 million upfront, and an early review of Alex Cross states that Tyler turned in a surprisingly good performance in the lead role.

No further details on Double Cross are available at this time.

In the meantime, Tyler fans can catch him in his first action-packed role when Alex Cross hits theaters tomorrow!
