Nick Cannon announces ‘Drumline’ sequel

It’s been 10 years since Nick Cannon dropped a beat in Drumline and now he’s ready to bring it back.

The comedian-turned-media mogul revealed over the weekend that he’s working on a sequel to his hit college band movie. But he’s got bigger plans for the film, which will also involve a TV series.

"Shout out to everyone watching Drumline right now. EXCLUSIVE NEWS: I’m producing Drumline 2 and the TV show for VH1. Stay tuned!!" he tweeted on Saturday.

You might be wondering how Nick plans to do a Drumline sequel when his character, Devon, would have graduated years ago. Does he plan to come back as the band director? Is he a grad student banging the drum? Not so much.

Nick revealed that Drumline 2 will not focus on Devon. "SPOILER ALERT: I’m not the main character," he tweeted. "I’m too damn old! New class! I’m getting my behind the camera on! But I will be in the movie."

It’s not clear whether Drumline 2 will be released in theaters or if it’s heading straight to DVD.
