Faith Evans hoping for ‘Divas’ season 2

While many reality show stars blame the series’ producers for how they’re portrayed, Faith Evans suggests that’s something within their control.

“I think it’s a personal decision of how you choose to portray yourself on camera or off camera. Everything ain’t for everybody, but that’s a personal decision if you choose to portray yourself in a certain light be it for money, fame or whatever,” she said. “That’s something that you’re eventually going to have to deal with the repercussions of.”

Faith’s reality series, TV One’s “R&B Divas,” is one of a few that didn’t feature Black women physically assaulting each other. The series, which Faith hopes will return for a second season, co-starred Nicci Gilbert, Monifa Carter, Syleena Johnson and Keke Wyatt.

“Nicci and I were adamant that we weren’t trying to make that kind of show where it’s about beating each other down because that’s not what we do,” Faith told Vibe. “I think the positive things about it are what people are embracing.”

While she waits to hear whether “Divas” will be back for a season 2, Faith is working on new music.

“I’m actually back in the studio, so I already have a lot of material that I’ve been working on for two years,” she said. “I definitely anticipate having my album out by next year sometime.”
