Nelly hurt by drug betrayal

Nelly feels betrayed and hurt by the member of his entourage who allegedly stashed a gun and drugs on the rapper’s tour bus.

“It’s really alarming when you find yourself in a situation that you didn’t put yourself in. That’s the only part that I think is baffling, and that’s the part that hurts the most,” he told MTV.

Nelly was stopped and detained by authorities earlier this month when police canines located 36 small bags of heroin and 10 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle.

Nelly was subsequently released when Brian Jones confessed that the illegal items belonged to him. He later pled “not guilty” in court. Worse than the inconvenience, Nelly said the inconsideration and selfishness of it all hurt him.

“I try to make decisions for not just me, but my whole camp,” he said. “When you feel like a decision wasn’t made in your best interest, when you feel like they not thinking the same way, that’s what hurts.”

Nelly said he hopes the incident doesn’t damage his reputation, which he’s worked to keep clean all these years.

“For 14 years, I made my perception what I wanted to make my perception and now my perception may be slightly changed, not because of what I did, but because of what someone else did. If I’mma put a dent in anything that I built, then let me be the one to put that dent in it,” he said.

Although he was obviously perturbed by the situation, Nelly seemed ready to move past it.

“Life is what life is. I’ve been through worse things in my life,” he said.
