Ice Cube doesn’t need Chris Tucker for ‘Friday’

Ice Cube does not need Chris Tucker to make another Friday movie happen.

Reports of another installment of the Friday franchise have been bubbling away for a very long time. Sadly, no cast has been finalized, but many are hoping that Chris will return for the final edition of Friday. There’s even been a fan-made mockup of a possible movie poster that featured his character Smokey.

Unfortunately, the comedian has some doubts about whether he and Ice Cube can bring back the same magic that made the original Friday a classic.

Ice Cub is confident he can keep up his end of the chemistry. "Well, my magic is still here so the movie is going to get done. The movie is going to be funny, and it’s going to live up to all the long-anticipated wait," the rapper-actor told The Huffington Post.

"I would hope that he’ll be a part of it. He’s more than welcome to be a part of it," Cube added. "It’s a trip, because you’re looking and somebody says that ‘the magic is not even there’ who’s never even tried it."

And, for Ice Cube, the fact that the first movie was such a hit is a testament to how successful a new installment could be. That’s not even mentioning the fact that fans that have been hoping for the rapper and Chris to reunite on screen.

"We put the first one together and we can put another one together. So he should really trust that, and do what his fans want him to do," Cube argued. "You should never out grow your fans. And if the fans want him to do this movie, that’s what we’re in this for, then that’s what he should do."
