Fabolous doesn’t plan to get married

Even though he’s with Emily Bustamante, Fabolous doesn’t think he’ll get hitched anytime soon.

There’s a good chance that Emily B may only ever be Fab’s babymama, but is that a problem for the couple?

Fab dropped by "The Combat Jack Show" for a chat on his career. But, naturally, the topic of his relationship with Emily eventually came up. People have been talking about their relationship ever since Emily made her debut on "Love & Hip Hop." From the show, people have made their own assumptions about what’s going on between Emily and Fab, but the rapper thinks viewers have really gotten the wrong impression.

"We great. I think me and Emily situation through the show got tainted through the public view ’cause it was really a one-sided story," Fabolous said, adding that he had no problem with her doing "Love & Hip Hop" as long as she was careful about herself. "I did tell her, ‘If you want to do that show, you have to be mindful of what’s going on.’ A lot of girls go into those shows not knowing exactly what they are getting into."

Even at that, Fab suggested that Emily be extremely careful of what she said. "They cut and edit what you say well, so you might say a whole paragraph, but if you say one little thing that’s juicy enough, ‘Yeah lets get that part.’"

Although much of what people saw on "Love & Hip Hop" made many think that their relationship wasn’t solid, Fab said, "Me and Emily are good, we are in a great place; we are raising a little boy together."

That doesn’t mean he and Emily will be getting hitched at any point in the foreseeable future. "I don’t think marriage is in the future for me right now, man, I really don’t," Fab admitted. "The thing about marriage is that I believe in it and don’t believe in it. I think people put that ring and that paper and it messes up a good thing sometimes."

He continued, "I like to just build on relationships and make sure that you’re in a happy relationship and if it leads to that."

Using Jay-Z and Beyonce as an example, Fab pointed out that the first couple of hip-hop had to wait a while before they got married. While they’re a lot more open about their relationship, that wasn’t always the case.

"Jay is 40 years old, and he waited until he felt it was right. Even when they first got together, it wasn’t a public thing," Fabolous argued. "They just made sure their base was strong before they made it public and I think that’s the kind of thing you have to do in a relationship."
