T.J. Holmes’ ‘Don’t Sleep’ expanded to one hour

    BET viewers have spoken: They can’t get enough of T.J. Holmes, so he’s getting more airtime. And he’s gonna be a daddy!

    BET has announced that the hit late-night news show, "Don’t Sleep! Hosted by T.J. Holmes," is being expanded to a one-hour format. With a bigger show comes a better time slot, so "Don’t Sleep" will now be airing Wednesday at 11 p.m.

    “We are very proud of the show, and the platform it has provided for the nation’s brightest thought leaders,” said Stephen G. Hill, President of Music Programming and Specials at BET Networks. “We love the passion of "Don’t Sleep’s!" dedicated audience and hope that the weekly appointment viewing of the show will grow that audience."

    New episodes begin tonight and T.J. can’t wait to bring BET viewers more news and heated debates.

    "I am excited to have more time to delve into the topics that affect our community, content that will ignite, inspire, educate and empower us as a passionate collective and community," said the host. "The election proved people of color are a coveted segment within society with voices that deserve and require platforms and time to be heard so resolve and solutions can be implemented towards greater change.”

    More congrats are also in order for the late-night host and his wife, who are expecting a baby in January. "Marilee and I will welcome our first child in a couple of months," T.J. said in a statement. "We have had two blessed years of marriage, and now, we are so excited to grow our family."
