Are the ladies of "Basketball Wives" getting ready to go on strike if they don’t get a raise?
In the "BBW" off season, it’s almost expected that one of the Wives will hold out for more money. TMZ.com reports, however, that several cast members may bring production to a screeching halt if they don’t get a raise from VH1.
Although season 5 of "BBW" started shooting last week, a source close to production told TMZ that the network has not locked in its contracts with Shaunie O’Neal, Evelyn Lozada, Tami Roman or Suzie Ketcham. What’s the hold up?
The insider said that the Wives are trying to leverage the show’s popularity to get a major salary increase, but VH1 is not trying to shell out more money. In fact, producers supposedly told the ladies that there would be no raises this cycle and anyone that doesn’t like it can be replaced.
Though no deal was in place, reportedly the ladies started filming on schedule in hopes that producers would meet their demands soon. As it stands, neither side is willing to compromise, so the "BBW"cast might walk if the network won’t give them more money.
VH1 have yet to comment on the matter to TMZ. S2S has reached out to a cast member of the "Basketball Wives" cast, and we’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
