Trey Songz reacts to Kansas City Chiefs tragedy

Trey Songz is distancing himself from the murder of NFL player Jovan Belcher’s girlfriend.

Like most people, Trey was deeply saddened to learn that Jovan had shot and killed his girlfriend Kasandra Perkins on Saturday.

Supposedly Jovan and Kasandra’s deadly argument began when she returned home late from a Trey Songz concert in Kansas City, according to RollingOut.com. It’s not clear what exactly sparked the disagreement. The Chicago-Tribune reports that Jovan then drove to Arrowhead Stadium where he turned the gun on himself in the parking lot.

Somehow, just by virtue of the fact that Kasandra had attended Trey’s concert earlier in the evening before she died, some people assign some of the blame to him. The Chapter V singer said that although he’s very sorry about what happened, Kasandra’s death is no way his fault.

"I don’t delete tweets , nor am I insensitive to death. I had no knowledge of the murder/suicide," Trey tweeted. "As sad as it may be, it has nothing to do with me. Sending prayers up to the families and friends of the people involved."

Jovan and Kasandra are survived by their 3-month-old daughter Zoey, who reportedly will now be raised by Jovan’s mother.
