Tia Mowry-Hardrict is teaching her sister Tamera Mowry-Housley the ropes of being a mom.
Many new moms are often lost on what to do when caring for a baby. It’s the first time they’ve ever been responsible for a life aside from their own
Lucky for Tamera, who delivered son Aden on November 12, she has her twin Tia to help out with a few helpful hints. Tia recalls that Tamera was most confused on how to feed her baby.
“The first thing, she was like, ‘Oh, my goodness! How do you do this breastfeeding? It’s difficult, it’s hard and it hurts!’" Tia told Ok! Magazine. “I’m like, ‘Just stay with it. Everything will be fine.’”
Tia has also advised that Tamera get a little shut-eye whenever she can—and that will probably require her to get on Aden’s schedule. She warns against trying to get chores done when the baby is asleep because then Tamera won’t have time to rest.
"I’ve also given her the advice of ‘sleep when the baby sleeps,’ because, like me, we want to make sure everything is tidied up around the house and in the kitchen and with the clothes," Tia said. "I’m like, ‘Tamera, you just have to let them pile up a little bit, and sleep when your baby sleeps, because if you don’t, you will be a walking zombie.’”
And it sounds like Tia’s son, 17-month old Cree, can’t get enough of his new baby cousin. “He loves him,” Tia joyfully shared. “The first time he saw him, he let out a gasp. He went ‘uhhh!’ I thought that was so freaking adorable."
She added, "And then I show him pictures of his little cousin, and he’ll just look at it. I’ll take the phone away, and he doesn’t want me to take the phone away. He’s mesmerized by Aden.”
As Tia revealed she and Tamera think this could be a sign of trouble for when the boys get older. “My sister and I, we think that they’re going to be best friends, and they’re going to turn on us," Tia mused with a laugh. "They’re going to be crazy!"
