Kenya Moore isn’t the only “Real Housewives of Atlanta” 40-something who takes issue with some of Porsha Stewart’s ageist comments.
“Once she makes those statements, it could just be off-putting,” Cynthia Bailey told Sister 2 Sister in reference to Porsha’s repeated remarks about Kenya’s age.
“I’m a little offended,” said Cynthia. “I’m 45, and I’ve always owned it. I run around town screaming it at the top of my lungs. I feel amazing in my 40s. I think that in every way, I’m more beautiful and more wise and sexier and everything. I love my 40s.”
While Porsha hasn’t thrown Cynthia’s age in her face, the 31-year-old has taunted her “RHOA” nemesis, Kenya, about her age and her 1993 title as Miss USA.
“Google you? From when? It’s not even in the search engine. You’re so old,” Porsha said during her first verbal dispute with Kenya.
“I don’t know why she feels the need to say that because it definitely can be offensive,” said Cynthia who pointed out, “You get better with age. I really feel like my 40s was a huge turning point in my life. I think the best is yet to come, and it will all happen in my 40s.”
Cynthia and Kenya are closer in age and, like Kenya, Cynthia has achieved some major accomplishments as a model and fashion industry trailblazer.
“She has to remember…when you get older, you get wiser,” explained Cynthia. “You have to respect the people that came before you. I’ve never looked at anyone that I looked up to and respected, I’ve never looked at their age; that had nothing to do with their character. That’s just how old they were.”
Though Cynthia’s irked a bit by Porsha’s words, she’s not taking it personally.
“I don’t think she’s trying to be offensive. I just don’t think she’s mindful about some of the things that she says, but she’ll learn,” said Cynthia. “If you say it, you better be able to defend it.”
