Meagan Good describes marriage proposal

It’s a popular misconception that Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin met on the set of Jumping the Broom, but the newlyweds first met six years before that.

“I had produced this little film… It was a Christian-based film, but it wasn’t like religious or like forcible, but it was honest. It was about teenage prostitution. To make a long story short, he saw this film, thought it was great, brought me into his office and said, ‘Hey, anything you need in the future; I just think you’re awesome. I love what you’re doing.’ Then, cut to six years later, and he’s the executive producer on Jumping the Broom,” Meagan explained to Wendy Williams.

Meagan and movie exec/preacher DeVon have been married for 7 months and dated for 10. While that might not seem like a long time to some, it was long enough for Meagan who didn’t have to think twice when DeVon popped the question.

“When he went to go get the box, I didn’t realize what he was doing. When he brought the box out, I was like, ‘What is that?’ Then he started talking, and I was hearing what he was saying… I didn’t know what to do. I started hyperventilating,” said Meagan who answered DeVon’s question with an “absolutely.”

While she saves her affection for her hubby in real life, Meagan steams things up with Laz Alonso on her new show “Deception,” but she’s sure DeVon isn’t catching any feelings about her romantic scenes with the heartthrob.

“They’re actually really good friends,” Meagan said about DeVon and Laz who she’s worked with on Jumping the Broom and Stomp the Yard. “It’s kinda weird. Sometimes it’s like kissing your brother.”
