Tamera learns lesson from 15-hour labor

Tamera Mowry Housley went through 15 hours of labor to bring baby Aden into the world in November.

In the season finale of “Tia & Tamera,” the older Mowry twin welcomed her bundle of joy into the world, but it didn’t go exactly as she’d planned.

Those who were anxiously awaiting the baby’s arrival, know that Aden came a few days after his due date. As a result, Tamera, who had planned to have a natural childbirth, ended up undergoing a C-section.

“All of my thoughts, what I wanted. All of that went all out the window. I just wanted him to be healthy,” said Tamera whose hours of labor caused her to run a fever—something her unborn baby didn’t really appreciate.

“I have a temperature of 100.6. The baby is not responding well to that now. He’s losing oxygen,” Tamera explained.

Despite his dramatic entrance, Aden entered the world on November 12 and after seeing his 10 fingers and 10 toes, Tamera said the chaotic delivery became a distant memory.

“You forget all the pain, the uncomfortableness. You forget all of that when you see such an amazing, beautiful gift,” she said.

Ironically, her experience was similar to sister Tia Mowry-Hardrict’s who’d also wanted her delivery to be more natural. However, Tia’s son was in a breach position which required her to deliver by Cesarean also.

Like Tia, Tamera admitted that her son’s grand entrance, that didn’t go at all according to plan, taught her something.

“The biggest life lesson that I have learned from this entire process would definitely be to let go,” she said.
