"R&B Divas" has been picked up for another season, and it’s getting a spin-off!

TV One has announed that "R&B Divas" will be returning for an eight-episode run this spring, though no specific date for the season 2 debut was revealed.

The first season followed Faith Evans, Nicci Gilbert-Daniels, Monifah Carter, Syleena Johnson and Keke Wyatt. Despite reports that Nicci would not be returning, the network indicated that season 2 will feature the original cast.

There’s no word on whether Angie Stone will be joining the cast as rumored.

Over the course of its flagship season more than 2.7 million viewers tuned in. “’R&B Divas’ has definitely struck a positive chord with viewers,”  Executive Vice President of Programming and Production for TV One Toni Judkins said in a statement. “Week-after-week, the series continued to build on its audience and we’re thrilled to provide another season and a new franchise of a dynamic program that is clearly resonating with audiences.”

Following the initial success of "R&B Divas," TV One also revealed that it’s rolling out a Los Angeles spinoff of the show. Tentatively titled "R&B Divas: LA," the show will follow five yet-to-be-named singers.

“We are elated to team up with TV One yet again on season 2 of R&B Divas,” said Thinkfactory Media Executive Producer, Adam Reed. The company helped to produce the Faith Evans-fronted reality series and will work with TV One on the offshoot.

He added, “We look forward to showing the fans the many incredible things the ladies are up to now and can’t wait to give viewers a glimpse into what the west coast has to offer with the new LA spinoff.”
