Yet again Grammy time has become a time of police explanations rather than champagne celebrations for Chris Brown.
First there was the, now-infamous, altercation with Rihanna back in 2009, and this Sunday, it was reported that he and R&B crooner Frank Ocean were on opposite sides of a brawl that took place at a Los Angeles recording studio.
Now, Frank wants to press charges, which could put Chris – who is currently on probation – back in front of a judge!
The public exchanges between the two men began Sunday with Frank tweeting, "got jumped by Chris and a couple guys," and "cut on my finger now I can’t play w two hands at the grammy’s."
Now Frank is adamant that he wants to press charges against the "Don’t Wake Me up" singer; although, eye witneses reportedly told TMZ that a member or Franks’ camp initiated the violence.
Chris on the other hand insists he did not start the melee, and, through his attorney Mark Geragos, made it clear that he was eager to give police the full play-by-play of events, since he is certain that he did nothing wrong, according to TMZ.
Chris, on Geragos’ instructions, left the scene before police arrived.
Geragos’ team has obtained surveillance videos that captured the last part of the fight and apparently it shows Chris AND Frank’s entourages getting into it while the two themselves were void of any wrongdoing.
The video will be admissible but will not fully exonerate the two stars since it only shows the last part of the fight, leaving the question of "who started it?" unanswered.
One source told TMZ that it was Chris who threw the first punch.
Despite a cut on Frank’s hand, the incident is not expected to affect any of the Grammy night performances, one of which has been long-rumored duet by Chris and Rihanna.
