Rick Ross survives drive-by

After just celebrating his 37th birthday on Sunday at a club in Miami, Rick Ross became the target of a drive-by shooting, in which he crashed his Rolls Royce into an apartment building…but not too many people are lending a sympathetic ear.

The Miami rapper’s rival, 50 Cent, thinks the entire shooting was “staged.”

“Hahaha fat boy hit the building? Lol it looks staged to me,” he tweeted. “No holes in da car. Hahaha, that boy was spooked.”

But Ft. Lauderdale officials have confirmed that the “Choppa in the Car” rapper was in fact the intended victim of the shooting. Reports say that he was riding with his girlfriend, fashion designer Shateria L. Moragne-EL, after leaving a restaurant, when shots were fired around 5 a.m. Monday, causing him to crash his car while trying to flee the scene.

Hmm…perhaps the craziest part about this unsuccessful shooting is that no bullets hit the car, nor the rapper or his passenger, according to many media outlets.

According to TMZ, Florida police have surveillance footage caught by a building near where the drive-by accident took place, and they have listed the shooting as “an active and ongoing criminal investigation.” No one has been identified as a suspect and no arrests have been made.

Allegedly, death threats were made towards Rozay back in December, causing him to mysteriously cancel some concert dates during his MMG tour, and some think this may have been a follow-up attempt on his life. He denied those reports during a radio interview in Miami, claiming it was due to poor promotion. “Never was due to any threats,” he said.
