Many Beyoncé fans are hoping against hope that they’ll get to see more of Blue Ivy in Bey’s upcoming HBO documentary, but it may be Jay-Z who fans get to see up close and personal.
According to Beyoncé, Jay may have wanted to avoid being a part of the project, but he was around when cameras were filming. That means fans will get to see the rap mogul in a different light—that of husband and father.
“It’s all natural moments," Beyoncé told E! News at the Life Is But a Dream premiere. The film debuts on Saturday on HBO, and along with her on-the-go lifestyle as a mega superstar, viewers will get a glimpse inside her relationship.
“It’s inspiring to see real life, to see a real couple and all of that. I hope that it can make people feel hope and feel good about their relationships,” said Beyoncé, who’s been working on the project since before her pregnancy, but couldn’t release it until Blue’s arrival.
“I started on this documentary maybe three and a half years ago, and I didn’t feel like it was complete until I became a mother,” she said. “I really had something to say and it’s out now, just because I finally felt like now I know what I’m trying to say after I saw my child’s eyes.”
If Blue does make a substantial appearance in the film, it will be one of the first times fans get a good look at the child, whose leaked photos have been blurred and out of focus.
Beyoncé admits that, like most moms, she’s protective of her baby girl.
“I want to make sure she has a childhood and has a great time. At some point, it is what it is, and you can’t control it anymore, but as long as I’m the mother that I know I can be… my daughter’s going to be fine,” she said.
