For fans patiently waiting awhile to learn when Janet Jackson’s rumored nuptials to boyfriend Wissam Al Mana will be, the singer confirmed that she’s already tied the knot.

    That’s the way love goes.

Rumors have been circulating for months about Janet and Wissam and a million-dollar wedding that would unite the two in holy matrimony, but Janet told “Entertainment Tonight” that she and Wissam quietly wed last year.

“The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true,” she said. “Last year we were married in a quiet, private and beautiful ceremony.”

The couple managed to keep it quiet, despite the few rumors that were never officially confirmed. That’s nothing new for Janet, whose marriage to René Elizondo, Jr. was also kept under wraps for some time.

According to “ET,” the two didn’t host any star-studded gala to celebrate their love, nor did they exchange extravagant gifts.

“Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favorite children’s charities,” read their statement.

It’s not clear exactly when in 2012 the wedding took place, but Janet and Wissam are apparently still celebrating and would like to continue doing so uninterrupted.

“We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy,” the couple wrote.

Wissam, 37, is described as a wealthy fashion tycoon who’s built an empire along with his brothers, according to Zap2It.com.

“I don’t date Janet Jackson. She is my girlfriend; there is a difference,” Wissam told VMAN magazine in 2011 before referring to her as his “dream woman.”

“She is a very special and talented woman who never ceases to amaze me,” he said.

Janet was also previously married to James DeBarge and had a long relationship with music producer Jermaine Dupri.
