Tip, Toya blast TMZ for Weezy ‘coma’ reports

T.I. and Toya Wright took to Twitter to blast TMZ for what they deemed exaggerated reports about Lil Wayne’s recent hospitalization.

The Young Money front man was taken to an L.A. hospital Thursday after suffering from seizures. It’s the third time in a matter of months that the rapper has experienced the attacks, which TMZ reported was an effect of drug use.

Judging by the responses to the story, family, friends and fans alike thought there might be some truth to the reports, which went so far as to suggest Weezy was in an induced coma and on his “deathbed.”

Around 9 p.m. EST, Weezy sent out a Tweet to ease the minds of those worried and concerned about his health.

“I’m good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love,” he wrote.

Following the scare, T.I. reassured fans that Wayne was recuperating and had a few choice words for the site.

“Just holla’d @my Lil bruh Tunechi…& he skraight! TMZ some f-$%X#k-niggaz for reporting that hoe-a$s-s#@$%it!!! That man daughter is like mines. That $&*!t surely got his mama hurtin, his kids hurtin,& he got true to da game patnas like me & Othas who ready to RIDE bout all da f-$%X $&*!,” wrote an obviously perturbed Tip.

While Wayne’s daughter Reginae seemed relieved, posting a photo of herself smiling wide, Toya, Wayne’s ex and Reginae’s mom, didn’t seem as forgiving.

“It would be a much better world if people would just stop and think before they spread RUMORS,” read a message on Toya’s Instagram. “Have you considered all the people you are really hurting with your lies???? #kids #family #friends.”

Though Weezy’s family and friends were upset about TMZ’s reports, more reputable publications, such as The L.A. Times, validated the site’s claims. “The 30-year-old rapper was rushed to Cedars-Sinai hospital in L.A., where he was placed in an induced coma,” according to the Times.
