Lil Wayne released from hospital

The “Lollipop” rapper was rushed to Cedars Sinai Medical Center on Friday after suffering more seizures in Los Angeles while shooting a video with Nicki Minaj. Not much was known about Weezy’s condition, but reported that he was “near death” over the weekend and had been read his last rites.

Young Money president Mack Maine didn’t let the rumors get too far however as he tweeted that “Wayne is alive and well!” shortly after the grim report came out.

TMZ painted a much more positive picture of Wayne’s condition today, however, when it was announced that he has been discharged from hospital after spending several days in ICU. “Wayne is feeling weak but he’s a lot better,” a source told TMZ. “He plans on laying low until he makes a full recovery.”

Mack added, “Thanks to [Cedars-Sinai] for everything!!! @LilTunechi has been officially been released and is headed home….God is great,”

As of Sunday, Weezy was eating and walking on his own. He had a lot of support during his hospital stay as Ncki, Drake and Birdman all stopped by to check on him.

It’s not clear what triggered Wayne’s new round of seizures, but according to The Hollywood Reporter there is speculation that he went on a “sizzurp binge” and ultimately overdosed on codeine. Neither Wayne nor his camp have commented on the rumor at this time.
