Wendy Raquel Robinson talks ‘The Game’ changes

Wendy Raquel Robinson, The GameMelanie is no longer a fixture on “The Game,” but Wendy Raquel Robinson said that gives Tasha and Chardonnay a chance to bond.

“This season our characters became very, very close, and actually it helped us on camera, off camera,” Wendy told Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live.”

“She keeps it real, and we keep it moving, and she’s funny as hell, and she’s just really good people,” Wendy said about Brandy.

Season 6 of the series premieres Tuesday at 10 p.m. EST, and many fans are anxious about the departures of the series’ original stars, Pooch Hall and Tia Mowry-Hardrict.

“Not watching. Team Melanie. Bring back Melanie,” wrote S2S Facebook user K Denise Booker. Nicole Stevens posted, “I want the old Game back from UPN…but I’m willing to give this a try. I hope the writing is better…they played Melanie out w/ such a whack story line and I’m tired of Tasha being so desperate & hood.”

Wendy didn’t share a lot of details about how Melanie and Derwin’s exits are explained on the show, but she did reveal: “We open up with a trade.”

Though viewers are skeptical about newcomers Lauren London and Jay Ellis, Wendy assured that the show’s writers and actors will deliver what fans have come to expect from the series.

“We’re such a strong family, so anytime you extract any ingredient, it makes you wonder how it’s going to go on, but because of the writing and just the cast pulling together, and after that, it still pulled together and it’s an amazing production.”
