Ne-Yo calls out fakers
Ne-Yo’s got no time for performers that fake their way through a performance. The Daily Telegraph reports that the singer-producer
“If you’re an artist, your job is to learn how to entertain,” Ne-Yo allegedly said. “As an artist, you need to learn to sing or dance, or sing and dance at the same time,” “If I want to hear what you sound like on the CD, I’ll just listen to the CD.”
Although they’re just being published, Ne-Yo made the comments after Beyoncé sang over a pre-recorded track at the 2013 Presidential Inauguration and Britney Spears lip-synched her way through an entire concert. That brought Ne-Yo to another gripe of his.
“If you don’t do sing so well,” he said, “or dance so well, and you need a bunch of pyro, smoke and mirrors to cover up that fact, I have an issue, because I’ll feel like I haven’t got my money’s worth.”
