Greg Horn, 35, walked in on his daughters, ages 12 and 14, while they were recording themselves in a “twerking” video, and then whipped them with a video cable while at least one pleaded for him to stop.
According to police reports, one of the girls had visible welts on her legs and open wounds in the thigh area from being beaten with the video cable, according to The Inquisitr.
The whole incident was caught on tape and posted on WorldStarHipHop.com. The two girls’ mother called the police after noticing the wounds.
The girls told police that they were beaten for trying to sneak out of the house. It is believed that Greg did not know that the camera was recording when he started beating them.
The video has brought the age-old debate of child discipline back into a public forum. Some insist that Greg went too far with his actions, and others hold firm that he did the right thing, teaching the girls a valuable lesson about engaging in what he felt was inappropriate behavior.
Ironically, Greg’s indictment falls on the first week of Child Abuse Awareness Month.
“Twerking” is a type of dancing that involves a jiggling of the hips and shaking of the buttocks. Pop star Miley Cyrus recently made headlines after posting a two-minute video of herself twerking to the song “The Wop.”
