The Kisses Down Low singer shared some exciting details about her upcoming album Talk A Good Game with Billboard. For starters, Kelly told the music news outlet that she recorded about 70 tracks for her studio project, which is supposedly due out this summer. It was hard for her to whittle that list of amazing songs down to a track list of just 12.
“I kept going back and forth with my A&R and my manager, we’ve all been on this incredible journey together, and they’re just like ‘Save it for the next album!'” Kelly told Billboard. “You just get so passionate and excited about these songs, you lived with them, you birthed them along with the producers. You become so attached.”
Among the songs that made it onto the album, Kelly revealed that there are guest appearances by Pharell and Wiz Khalifa. But the collaboration that will really have anyone talking is her song with her Destiny’s Child band mates Beyoncé and Michelle Williams, but Kelly clarified that she’s taking lead on the song, clarifying, “it’s me featuring Beyoncé and Michelle.”
This will be the third time that Destiny’s Child fans have seen the trio come together this year after releasing a new track titled “Nuclear” on their compilation album Love Songs. Kelly and Michelle also joined Beyoncé on stage for the Super Bowl half time show this year.
