Jay-Z selling his share of Brooklyn Nets

Jay-Z is waving good-bye to his share of the Brooklyn Nets so he can pursue a career as sports agent.

After doing all that work to bring the Nets to Brooklyn and building the Barclays Center, Yahoo! Sports reports that Hov is looking to sell his stake in the team, which is less than 1 percent ownership in the team.

Even though Hov only owns a small percent of the team, he had effectively become the corporate face of the Nets’. By being associated with the team, Jay-Z  has afforded lots of free promotion to the Brooklyn Nets as he was seen sitting courtside and performing at the Barclays  Center.

But now that Hov is building out Roc Nation Sports, he wants to be able to represent players in the NBA. Roc Nation Sports had already signed Robinson Cano of the New York Yankees, and there’s chatter that he’s in talks with an NFL player as well. According to NBA rules, Jay would have to divest his share of the Nets. A person cannot have any ownership stake in a team and represent players at the same time.

While Jay-Z is preparing to  offload his share of the Brooklyn Nets, Stacey Dash is still concerned about what he and Beyoncé were doing in Cuba! Clearly outraged, she tweeted, “Do you care that The Jay Z”s have taken the capital you have given them and funded a communist oppressive regime?”

The answer to that would be no. Stacey’s followers didn’t seem all that concerned about Bey and Jay’s Cuban vacation as one tweeted, “I like you better when you were CLUELESS.”
