Is it time for Ray J to let Kim Kardashian go?

RayJ_KimKAwwww, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Has Ray J made his “Last Wish” or is he sending subliminal messages to Kanye West? One would think that since it has been years since the release of the infamous Ray J/Kim Kardashian sex tape that both parties would have let it go by now. However, this week Ray reminded the world that he is a pioneer by releasing a single titled “I Hit It First,” featuring lyrics like: “I had her head going north and her ass going south, but now baby chose to go West.”

Based on the title of the track, most considered it a diss toward Kanye, who is patiently waiting for Kim to birth his seed. But with the most recent events taking place in Kimmy’s life, maybe Ray J feels that he has lost her for good. He has denied that the song is in fact about Kim, telling Hot 97 radio station in New York, “It’s a song. It’s not about that; it’s about a concept. People going way too deep. They just gotta keep it on the surface. I’m not trying to create no war. It’s all love. We’re doing music.”

For argument’s sake, let’s concede that the song had nothing to do with Kimye. Even without the celebrity names attached to the drama, why would any man feel the need to remind the next one that he hit it first? Putting it lightly, it’s a very unchivalrous thing to do. Putting it more bluntly, that’s a punk move. Hopefully sexual partners are discussing their past relationships before decided to engage themselves, but even if the world does already know Kim’s bedroom history, it’s still tacky for Ray to remind us all.

Normally, I’d say that it’s never okay to kiss and tell. However, the existence of the aforementioned sex tape, that made Kim famous, sort of nullifies the whole notion of discretion. Still, it’s unfortunate when men and women’s reputations become shattered over scandal centered around sexual inhibitions. In the world of entertainment, everyone is kissing and telling, in magazines, blogs and even music. But the reality is, it makes for good celeb gossip and TV. One listener commented, “Ray isn’t grieving, he’s capitalizing on the fact that there’s a buzz now around Kim’s pregnancy and he wants to [be] relevant again. He comes out every so often almost symptomatic when his career is stalling just as Kim has done. Both are infamous for sex tape antics and little else.”

Scandals in the entertainment world are a sure-fire way to make celebrities relevant, and we just love to watch the drama unfold. In this case, Kanye got the girl, so there’s really no need for him to retaliate. But the rapper is notorious for reading people via snappy one-liners and verses. An insider close to Kanye released this statement about the rapper’s thoughts on the track: “Ray J is crazy. Kanye don’t condone broke *ss, jealous [guys] who be trying to bite off he and Kim’s fame.”

If I were Ray J, I would make my last wish and have several seats.
