Draya Michele took to Twitter to address recent rumors about the end of “Basketball Wives: LA.”
“Just spoke to @vh1 and the rumors about cancelling #BBWLA are 100% false,” Draya wrote. “You know I know….,” she added with a smiley face.
In March, Gloria Govan said an additional season hadn’t been confirmed yet. “We haven’t been picked up for a third season yet, so I’m not really sure where we are with it,” she told HipHollywood.com.
That wasn’t the only sign that the end might be near. Shortly after the launch of season 2, series creator Shaunie O’Neal hinted that the show might be in need of a makeover. Since then, Gloria, who helped launch the Miami spinoff, said she wasn’t sure she’d be returning.
Add to that the season’s reportedly lower than desired ratings, and it’s easy to see why some questioned whether it would return.
While Draya’s posts were some comfort to worried fans, VH1 still hasn’t announced the show’s return. However, Draya hinted that her future with the network may not be dependent on “BBW:LA.”
“Big. Huge. Plans. For. Draya. At. @vh1,” she wrote. “You haven’t seen the last of DRAYA ….. I’m just getting started !”
Some speculate that Draya may be getting her own spinoff series, featuring her BFFs and focusing on her business ventures, including promotion of her Fine Ass Girls clothing line.
“Whatever my plans are, @vh1 has my back!!!” she wrote.
