At least one die-hard “Scandal” fan has had enough of the week-long breaks between shows, and has decided to do something about it.

    T. R. Mason from Tallahassee, Fl., started a petition in hopes of persuading ABC to stop the drawing out the drama and airing “Scandal” only a few times a month. According to T.R., the long breaks will cause the hit TV show to lose viewers and much more.

“There are very few TV shows on prime time television written by, much less starring people of color. The broadcast networks have made great strides in recent years by diversifying the faces we see on prime time TV however there is more that can be done. Putting a show like Scandal on repeated hiatus is a surefire way to lose fans and viewers,” she wrote.

The petition is steady growing with 662 supporters to date, and T.R. is encouraging her fellow “gladiators” to send profanity free emails, letters and phone calls to Anne Sweeney, president of ABC Entertainment, who is said to be behind the breaks.

“Gladiators/Scandalistas/Scandalists everywhere have not gotten over our initial shock that there will be no Scandal AGAIN for 3 more weeks. Instead of whining and complaining, we are doing something about it,” she wrote.

“Scandal” creator Shonda Rhimes has also taken the time to clear her name, assuring fans that it’s not her fault. “I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHEN SHOWS AIR. I do not have anything to do with the fact that we are not on for 3 weeks. #donottweetmeyourcrazy,” she tweeted.

Since the show first aired last spring, the thriller has attracted millions of fans, and the show just recently won the TV Guide 2013 Fan Favorite Award, which proves there are still some devoted fans out there.

T.R. ended her petition with: “Mount up Gladiators! Mount up!” “Scandal” returns on Thursday, April 25 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
